The Hopkinton Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Library/Media Specialist to provide an enriched library environment for students. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and supervising the media center, preparing and administering the media center budget, and assisting teachers in selecting instructional materials.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and supervise the media center, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for students.
- Prepare and administer the media center budget, evaluating and selecting new materials to meet the needs of students and teachers.
- Assist teachers in selecting instructional materials, making media center resources available to support the curriculum.
- Teach classes in library, media, and research skills, presenting and discussing materials with students.
- Counsel and provide reading guidance to students with special reading needs or interests.
- Share responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of the school and district, attending faculty and committee meetings as required.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Library by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, including Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement.
- Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred, from an accredited college or university, in Library Science or a related field.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children and adults.
- Commitment to remaining current in content knowledge and teaching strategies.
