Geotechnical Engineer

PBS Engineering and Environmental is a leading provider of innovative and sustainable solutions in the fields of environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, and natural resources. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Geologist to join our dynamic team in Richland, Washington or Walla Walla, Washington.

• Conduct geotechnical field exploration and materials testing to gather data and samples for analysis.
• Collect and return field samples to our in-house laboratory for analysis and interpretation.
• Document findings and communicate results to engineers and professionals through detailed reports and presentations.
• Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and prepare sections of geotechnical engineering reports.
• Provide construction observation and monitoring to evaluate compliance with recommendations.

• Bachelor's degree in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering with a geotechnical focus, or a related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 0 to 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift 50lbs with or without accommodations.
• Valid Driver's License.

• Current HAZWOPER 40-hour certification.
• Willingness to travel for field jobs (generally within 3 hours of office and up to 2 nights).
• Comfortable working in remote areas with limited services.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro.
