Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Valid nursing license
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience, with preference for candidates with additional experience
  • Proficient in interpreting rhythm strips and managing tracheostomy care
  • Experience with chest tube management and general medical-surgical skills
  • Current BLS certification
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • EKG interpretation and ACLS certification preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience is highly desirable
Unit Details

The Telemetry unit is equipped to handle a variety of medical diagnoses, excluding primary cardiac cases. Common patient conditions include:

  • Stroke
  • COPD
  • Respiratory illnesses
  • GI Bleed
  • Renal Failure
  • Electrolyte imbalances

Patient ratios typically range from 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night, depending on patient acuity and available support staff.

Support Staff

The unit is supported by:

  • CNA
  • Charge Nurse
  • Phlebotomy for peripheral blood draws
  • House Supervisor available 24/7
  • Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
