Dietary Assistant

The Dietary Aide is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for assisting cooks with food preparation tasks, serving meals to patients and staff, and maintaining the kitchen work areas. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Assist cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including food preparation, cooking, and serving meals to patients and staff.
• Maintain the kitchen work areas, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and serving areas.
• Empty trash and compost, and perform dishwashing duties as needed.
• Stock unit snacks and ensure the correct number of trays are delivered to units.
• Assist cooks to prepare the line for service, and help stock supply shelves in storage areas.
• Report any evidence of pests or rodents in the kitchen or storage areas to the Dietary Manager.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in quantity cooking preferred.
• Basic knowledge of modified diets required.
• Training in food service sanitation and possession of food service sanitation certification required.
