Job Summary

The Hockomock Area YMCA is seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Early Learning Center. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and engaging environment for young children to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and Guide Children
    • Provide individualized attention and support to children in the classroom
    • Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development through play-based activities
  • Assist with Enrichment Programs
    • Support children during specific enrichment classes or programs
    • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement engaging activities
  • Communicate with Parents
    • Keep parents informed about their child's daily activities and progress
    • Respond to parent inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Attend Staff Meetings and Events
    • Participate in regular staff meetings to discuss program developments and best practices
    • Attend childcare family events and at least three YMCA events per year
  • Ensure Compliance with Regulations
    • Stay up-to-date with EEC regulations and YMCA policies
    • Ensure the classroom environment is safe and healthy for children

Requirements

  • EEC Certified Teacher
    • Hold a valid EEC Teacher certificate
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
    • At least one year of experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool setting
