Job Summary

As a key member of our nursing team, the Assistant Director of Nursing Services plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This leadership position is responsible for managing nursing staff and activities, including resident care and record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage nursing staff assigned to a particular shift within the nursing home, taking into consideration the resident's condition and the employee's skill level.
  • Assign residents to available nursing staff, ensuring that each resident receives the necessary care and attention.
  • Measure employee performance and provide feedback to improve overall team performance.
  • Assist in the training of new staff members and the development of existing staff members.
  • Monitor resident care areas and other nursing home facilities for cleanliness and readiness.
  • Provide nursing care to nursing home residents on an as needed basis, including administering oxygen, basic life support (BLS), possible IVs, or medications as prescribed by a provider.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred, but not required.
  • Three years of nursing management experience, two of which must be at the manager or higher level.
  • One year of long-term care or subacute care experience is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of the nursing practice act and standards of nursing care, and a working knowledge of administrative and management techniques.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
