Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Medical Services and/or Program Director, this role oversees the LPNs and provides medical care and support to patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and experience working with chemically addicted patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise LPNs and/or Medical Assistants
  • Maintain emergency medical kits at each location
  • Develop and implement a plan to train staff and patients in the use of Narcan kits
  • Support patients in the administration of medication
  • Document medication administration
  • Perform TB and drug screenings on all patients within 72 hours of admission
  • Monitor and record vital signs
  • Provide triage and medical services accordingly
  • Perform TB screenings on all patients
  • Schedule and coordinate medical appointments for patients with healthcare needs
  • Review and transcribe medication orders and monitor medication records for compliance
  • Observe and record response to treatment/medication and notify the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, and Program Director of any instances
  • Monitor ongoing/chronic medical problems
  • Manage minor needs of patients, including attending to minor injuries and administering routine medications
  • Maintain all medical records
  • Perform QA activities
Requirements
  • RN with valid NYS license
  • At least three years related experience
  • Qualified by training, education, and experience in providing nursing care for chemically addicted patients and patients withdrawing from alcohol and/or drugs
Work Environment

This role operates in an indoor office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
