Sr

Mammography Technologist:

A CRT licensed Mammography Technologist performing screening and diagnostic breast imaging and procedures. This technologist must be able to produce ACR quality images in both diagnostic and screening exams. This technologist is able to interact with clinicians and other departments to coordinate patient care. This technologist is able to evolve with radiology information system (RIS) and PACS systems. This technologist must participate in performance improvement activities in the department. Maintains appropriate quality control records and participates in routine equipment testing and maintenance. Additionally, this Mammography Technologist must be willing to train and interact with students and new hires when necessary.

Principle

Mammography Technologist:

Is responsible for having a current CRT with the State of California and a current Mammography Certification with the State of California.

The Principle Technologist is responsible for performing screening mammography, diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound and all interventional and invasive procedures in the Mammography Department.

Complies with all regulatory mandates for mammography.

Additional Shift Details

Monday to Friday 8 hour shift; Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays.

Must be willing to assist at any of the UCSF Medical Center Locations.

Requirements

Prin Mammo Tech level requires minimum of 5 years of Mammography experience

Requires proof of mammography - specific training of at least 40 documented hours, if certified after April 27, 1999.

Requires proof of having performed at least 200 mammography exams in the last 24 months (rolling 24-month calendar)

Requires certificates of at least 15 CEU's in the last 36-month period (rolling 36 month calendar) that must include at least 6 CEU's in each mammography modality used.

Requires proof of MQSA approved 3D Tomosynthesis training.

Sr. Mammo Tech level requires minimum of 3 years of Mammography experience

BLS Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification

Requires proof of mammography - specific training of at least 40 documented hours, if certified after April 27, 1999.

Requires proof of having performed at least 200 mammography exams in the last 24 months (rolling 24-month calendar)

Requires certificates of at least 15 CEUs in Mammography in the last 36-month period (rolling 36 month calendar).

Requires proof of MQSA approved 8 hours each of Digital and 3D Tomosynthesis training.

Proof of initial 25 supervised mammograms

Graduate of a JCERT accredited radiology technology training program.

Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays.

Must be willing to assist at any of the UCSF Medical Center Locations

Ability to perform job duties in a reliable, responsible and timely fashion.

Ability to work effectively and efficiently under any workload and/or patient volume.

Ability to be respectful of everyone, including those of different backgrounds, beliefs and gender.

Knowledge of Radiology Information System and related downtime procedure, to include the proper scheduling and completion of patient exams.

Knowledge of the Medical Centers' current Electronic Health record and ordering systems.

Knowledge of the related Breast Imaging systems and selects the correct patient and exam from worklists.

Knowledge of the Incident Reporting System

Leadership skills.

Ability to prioritize and complete tasks, needing little or no supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer recent work experience in an acute care setting.

License/Certification

CRT (R) Radiologic Technologist Certification
