Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is seeking a dedicated Range Technician to contribute to our mission of delivering innovative, high-quality, technology-driven services. Position Summary:
This full-time role is essential within our expanding technology and government contracting firm. The selected candidate will be responsible for the setup and assembly of testing apparatus, various mechanical components, and other laboratory-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading small arms ammunition
- Preparing, measuring, and disposing of ballistic targets
- Assembling and setting up test fixtures
- Operating manual machine tools and hand tools
- Reporting daily production status
- Conducting basic quality checks on machined components using various measuring instruments
- Performing essential laboratory functions
- Providing necessary support as directed by project officers
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to obtain clearance through the DoD security background investigation
- Pass drug and alcohol testing
- Strong mechanical skills and relevant experience
- Ability to pass medical surveillance testing related to job duties with energetic materials
- Commitment to high standards of quality and efficiency
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Physical capability to lift and move heavy objects
- Experience with firearms or machine shop practices
- Firearms experience may be from military, law enforcement, or personal hobbies
- Ability to handle small arms propellant
- Completion of AMMO-45 online certification and safety training as required
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a government driver's license
- High School diploma required; college degree preferred but not mandatory
- Encouragement for past or present military personnel to apply
- Must be a US Citizen and eligible for Security Clearance
