About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all MRI techniques and examinations according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain constant attention to patients assigned to the technologist for examination, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Produce optimal MRI images for diagnostic interpretation, utilizing your expertise in imaging technology and patient care.
  • Select and operate MRI equipment, coils, and restraining devices as directed, adhering to prescribed MR safety standards.
  • Provide protection to patients, hospital personnel, and the general public while performing duties, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Identify and archive patient images, maintaining accurate records of exams and MRI procedure logs.
  • Ensure proper patient identification and demographics on images, maintaining the integrity of our imaging records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of our Diagnostic Imaging services.
  • Collaborate with the MR Team Leader Technologist to address any staffing, morale, or work method concerns.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner, adhering to our hospital's standards and policies.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your job knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in MRI technology.
  • Adhere to CHOP's cost control standards, monitoring usage of supplies and equipment to minimize waste and misuse.
  • Provide age-appropriate care and services to patients, based on their developmental needs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical Diploma in Radiology or MRI Program required.
  • MRI Technician (MR) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 months of hire.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an organization that requires a hands-on instructor-led psychomotor skills verification within 12 months of hire.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in MRI technology, with a corresponding job level based on experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of all forms of MRI imaging.
  • Basic knowledge of information systems for transferring data.
  • Basic knowledge of Radiology Information Systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide family-centered care.
  • Knowledge of child and family assessment (Age-Specific Competency).
