As a Lead Ultrasound Sonographer in our Maternal Fetal Medicine department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality.
  • Prepare and maintain ultrasound rooms and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Interview and screen patients prior to examinations, explaining procedures and answering questions to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
  • Perform and coordinate patient testing services, including ultrasound imaging and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment, supplies, and records are available for patient care at our satellite locations.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families through telephone consultations, office visits, and hospital visits.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and patients to educate them on the use of specialized equipment, new procedures, and concepts.
  • Assure maximum quality of care by designing and implementing effective antenatal testing systems.
  • Maintain accurate patient testing records and unit equipment.
  • Participate in research projects as requested by the Division.
  • Communicate equipment problems and image quality issues to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Package and send genetic specimens as required.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (required)
  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire
  • ARDMS or RDMS certification (required)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer credential
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; experience in ultrasonography preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
