Server Representative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Server to join our team at Lucys Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, taking food and drink orders, and ensuring that our guests have an unforgettable dining experience.

Responsibilities:

• Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
• Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
• Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing a welcoming and attentive service.
• Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions and recommendations.
• Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Collect payments from tables and prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
• Help food preparation staff when necessary, supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Requirements:

• Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum of six months to a one-year as a server preferred.
• Ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
• Ability to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Good judgment and decision-making abilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, and physically demanding environment.
• Must be able to spend 100% of working time standing, walking, and reaching.
• Pushing, pulling, and lifting objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position.
• Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
• Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
