Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate New Graduate Nurse to join our team at Lakeland Hospital St Joseph. As a Graduate Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care under the guidance of a mentoring Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer care to a designated group of patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Provide professional nursing care to all patients and their families, utilizing the delegated, interdependent, and independent functions of nursing to maintain the standard of care.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, intervene, and evaluate patient care, prioritizing and utilizing nursing diagnosis in partnership with the mentoring Registered Nurse.
  • Implement delegated interdependent and independent direct care activities skillfully, based on skills learning and clinical training, assessment findings, and evaluation of any previous interventions.
  • Identify patient learning needs through the assessment process and mutually establish education goals with the patient/family, implementing measures to meet these goals.
  • Establish priorities in patient care assignments, based on essential patient care needs and availability of unit resources in terms of time, personnel, equipment, and supplies.
  • Document care given using the nursing process and critical thinking skills, utilizing the Plan of Care (Standards of Care) to guide documentation.
  • Perform efficiently in patient and family emergency situations, following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Requirements
  • Associate in Nursing Required
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required within 60 days
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
