At DIMAR MANUFACTURING, we are seeking a skilled Grinding Operator to join our team. As a Grinding Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending grinding and related tools to remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal pieces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of grinding tools, including surface grinders, belt sanders, and polishers, to achieve precise metal finishes.
  • Examine and feel the surface of work pieces for defects, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Move grinders over surfaces to remove scratches and imperfections, and polish ground areas with finer abrasives to produce smooth, unmarred surfaces.
  • Replace worn abrasive disks, wheels, and belts, and select the correct grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications.
  • Assist in other production areas as needed, and follow all safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Possess basic technical knowledge of grinding tools and their safe operation.
  • Able to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive tasks.
  • High School Diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Machine shop work environment; dust, grease, and metal shavings common.
  • Requires the use of safety glasses, steel-toed shoes/boots, and other personal protective equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work overtime, including weekends as requested.

Compensation:

17-22 Hourly Wage
