Job Title: Production Supervisor

Michael Foods, Inc. is a leading food processing and distribution company with a strong presence in the industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team at our Gaylord, Minnesota facility.

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising all production areas at the Gaylord facility, training and developing a team of over 60 employees, and ensuring the highest quality product is produced at the lowest possible cost. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and follow directions with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise production areas and ensure compliance with safety work rules and good manufacturing practices.
  • Train and develop employees to achieve production goals and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Monitor and control ingredient usage and department costs.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including timecards, downtime records, and absentee records.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Encourage employee suggestions to improve production, quality, safety, and control costs.
  • Communicate effectively with the operations manager and other departments to ensure a coordinated work relationship.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the food industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaming skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow directions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multi-functional tasks.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends when required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
