Responsibilities

As a Teacher Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to the lead Teacher in implementing educational activities and lesson plans
  • Participating in one-on-one activities with small groups of children during instruction and lesson review
  • Actively engaging with children throughout the day and guiding those who need extra support
  • Communicating effectively with families, team members, and other center staff
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in accordance with established guidelines
  • Contributing to the development of children's anecdotal records and child's developmental needs
  • Participating in lesson plan review, team meetings, and learning environment communication sessions
  • Attending and participating in professional development, meetings, and conferences

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience in a child care setting or related field
  • A talent for fostering children's appetite for learning
  • Creative and resourceful, combined with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as comprehensive knowledge of classroom activities and teaching methods
  • A genuine interest in children and respect for their individuality
