Job Description

Micro Systems Automation Group (MSAG) is a mid-sized business providing management consulting, information technology, and physical solutions products and services. We have a rich history of working with clients to understand their business problems and leverage our technical expertise and knowledge to deliver solutions that improve business performance.

We are currently seeking a Technical Writer/Editor with 2-20+ years of experience to join our team for future opportunities at the FAA. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment, providing support and expertise necessary for the successful delivery of project deliverables, and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.

The position requires a subset of the following responsibilities/expertise in FAA-specific information:

  • Contribute to other team members' tasks such as building storyboards for presentations or videos.
  • Edit highly technical engineering documents, aviation guidance, etc.
  • Provide research and write professional documents, including program reports and procedures, documentation, and training materials.
  • Compile diverse policy, technical, statistical, demographic, or financial information and translate it for understanding by non-technical personnel or broader uses bases.
  • Edit professional documents for content, format, flow, and integrity in conformance with best practices.
  • Determine the suitability of material for the target audience.
  • Involved in projects from the planning stage.
  • Provide additional or missing materials and edit written copy.
  • Must have experience using MS Office.

Estimated salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year.

Bachelor's Degree in English, communications, technical writing, or technology management, or a related field, may be substituted for relevant experience. A master's degree/MBA in a related field may be substituted for a bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience, or a PhD in a related field may be substituted for a bachelor's degree and 7 years' experience.
