Position Overview:
The Facilities Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the critical facilities requirements.
This role includes supervising the housekeeping and maintenance personnel, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing external contractors, overseeing vehicle maintenance, and handling logistics such as shipping, receiving, and mail distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Housekeeping and Maintenance Teams, which includes tasks such as recruiting, hiring, and training staff, planning and scheduling tasks, assigning work, evaluating performance, and addressing any issues in accordance with Newport Healthcare's protocols.
Conduct general facility maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, and painting, as needed.
Manage landscaping, snow removal, and other outdoor maintenance tasks.
Ensure compliance with Fire Code regulations for the entire facility, including conducting fire drills, maintaining alarm systems, and scheduling inspections and repairs.
Responsible for fire suppression systems, including regular testing and maintenance as required by regulations.
Schedule and document inspections of all life safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and first-aid kits.Coordinate renewals of food-service and laboratory licenses.
Manage relationships with external contractors, including obtaining and reviewing proposals for various projects and submitting them for approval.
Effectively schedule work to minimize disruption to programs and staff.
Define project scopes and hold contractors accountable for adherence to schedules and standards.
Oversee the maintenance of Newport Healthcare vehicles, including safety checks and routine servicing.
Maintain accurate documentation for vehicles, including insurance and registration.
Coordinate the delivery of items and verify the quality of goods received.
Handle daily mail collection and distribution, as well as shipping of outgoing items.
Maintain inventory of operational supplies, including cleaning and office supplies.
Submit orders for office supplies as needed and manage immediate purchasing through petty cash.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in facilities management is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations is essential.
Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and practices is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is necessary.
