Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide - Food Service Assistant plays a vital role in the dietary department, assisting with food preparation, food service, and general duties. This position requires a team player who is committed to providing excellent care and service to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of food and serve meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and applicable sanitation practices.
Deliver meals to resident rooms or tables and set up meal trays in accordance with dietary orders and tray cards, ensuring residents are served proper diet and food preferences in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the kitchen, dietary equipment, and dining room, including work areas and floors.
Clean utensils, dishes, and pots and pans by operating the dishwasher or proper handwashing processes, ensuring the dishwasher is working properly and at the appropriate temperature, and recording temperature as needed.
Ensure proper storage, rotation, preparation, and labeling of food in accordance with State and local guidelines and Prestige policy, discarding outdated food as necessary.
Partner with dietary staff to ensure equipment is working properly and at the appropriate temperature, recording temperature as needed, and reporting faulty equipment immediately.
Follow facility fire safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical practices, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions.
Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously and in a manner that respects dignity, meets confidentiality standards, and promotes resident and staff rights.
Reset the dining room for the next meal and ensure supplies are available for upcoming meals.
Assist in storing incoming food and supplies as assigned.
Attend and participate in training, in-services, and staff meetings.
Requirements
Must have Food Handler Permit as required by the State.
Some High School education preferred.

Protects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to residents, team members, the department/center/community, and company information and records.
