About the Job:

RTM Engineering Consultants, LLC is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. This role will be focused on land development projects across various industries including K-12 and higher education, commercial, restaurant, office, municipal, park district, historic preservation, and infrastructure improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply principles of civil engineering technology to design and develop land development projects, including drainage and stormwater systems, water systems, sanitary sewer systems, parking, and roadways.
  • Utilize Civil 3D software to prepare exhibits and construction documents.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods.
  • Responsible for accuracy and quality of engineering design, reports, and plans, maintaining conformance to budgets, schedules, and RTM standards.
  • Perform site investigations and construction observation on-site services.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and code requirements.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D and other computer-based design tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
