Job Title: Enterprise Architect

Join the State of Illinois as an Enterprise Architect and play a key role in shaping the future of the state's IT infrastructure. As a member of the Department of Innovation and Technology, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating enterprise-wide business and technology alignment, maintenance of governance standards and processes, and enforcing adherence and compliance with governance policies and processes for uniformity and compliance of initiatives subject to governance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Proposal and Projects standard adherence associated with IT initiatives from other agencies.
  • Identify, develop, and manage performance to improvement initiatives to enhance the capabilities of DoIT in delivering IT services to State agencies, boards, and commissions.
  • Serve as full line supervisor.
  • Participate in top level management meetings.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in technology-related fields by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars and conferences.
Requirements:
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in Management Information Systems, Data Processing, Telecommunications or related field.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in Management Information Systems, Data Processing, Telecommunications or directly related fields in a public or business organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Four (4) years of professional experience serving as an IT Governance Manager for a professional organization.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience planning, directing, and coordinating enterprise-wide business and technology alignment, maintenance of governance standards and processes, and enforcing adherence and compliance with governance policies and processes for uniformity and compliance of initiatives subject to governance.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience interpreting technical standards to ensure adherence in the areas of Mainframe, Midrange, End User Support, Risk Management, Change Management, Web Applications, Workflow, Personal Information Management (PIM), Common Applications, Data Management, Local Area Network, and Network Services.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience identifying, developing, and managing performance to improvement initiatives to enhance the capabilities in delivering IT services.

  • Requires the ability to lift and carry objects or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
