About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Meat Department Associate to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a key member of our fresh food team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and ensuring that our meat, seafood, and prepared foods meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to customers by answering questions and making recommendations on meat, poultry, and seafood products.
  • Weigh, package, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, including grinds.
  • Inspect and store meat upon delivery, ensuring that all delivered meat meets or exceeds company quality standards.
  • Ensure the meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases are fully stocked and rotated according to expiration dates.
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including the meat cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases.
  • Maintain all club policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats is preferred.
  • Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department is preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age.
Work Environment

This role requires frequent movement on hard surfaces, occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping. You will be required to lift objects up to 30 pounds and may need to lift and move heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
