Cheese Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Cheese Specialist to join our Deli Department at Hy-Vee. As a Cheese Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

• Customer Service: Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with purchases.
• Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of cheese products, including types, origins, and pairing suggestions.
• Inventory Management: Receive, store, and rotate cheese products to ensure freshness and availability.
• Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company guidelines and regulations.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales goals, resolve customer issues, and maintain a positive work environment.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Six months or more of similar or related experience in a retail or food service environment.
• Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and basic math skills.

This position is continually exposed to meat, cheese, dust, noise, and temperature extremes. There is occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals/solvents. This is a fast-paced work environment with significant pressure.
