Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic imaging exams utilizing appropriate equipment and technology.
- Verify patient identity and review medical records for exam appropriateness.
- Interview patients to obtain medical history and assess risk factors.
- Explain procedures to patients, including risks and benefits.
- Set up equipment and acquire images as per script.
- Review images, document exceptions, and communicate data to radiologists.
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies.
- Provide post-care instructions to patients.
- Participate in process improvement activities.
- Provide imaging education to residents and new employees.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (RT) or Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CV).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (PALS).
- One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology.
- Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most appropriate method of providing radiographs.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with patients and hospital personnel.
- Technical knowledge to operate equipment and computers.
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of American College of Radiology requirements for accreditation.
