Job Summary:

As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. This role is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function, responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
  2. Ensure the site’s environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
  3. React to Building Management System alarms, and complete emergency repairs as needed.
  4. Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
  5. Alert management if subcontractor performance doesn’t meet all requirements per the Master Service Agreement.
  6. Complete planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
  7. Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC-related client problems.
  8. Building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDU’s and utilities.
  9. Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
  10. Complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures. Follow all safety processes and requirements and ensure all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met.
  11. Conduct routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records.
  12. Complete all required training to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities.
  13. Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
  14. Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
  15. Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.


Requirements:
  • Training in a Technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to Meet the physical requirements of this role.
  • To effectively present information to an internal department, client, management and/or colleagues.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
