Job Summary:

The Computed Tomography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality CT scans on patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric age groups. This role requires a strong understanding of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, and patient care/safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CT scans on patients in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Optimize radiation use by applying principles of Image Gently, Image Wisely, and American College of Radiology.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human structure and functions, patient care/safety, positioning, and radiographic sciences.
  • Operate CT scanner and related equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Complete quality scans in a timely manner, prioritizing work flow to meet STAT and urgent demands.
  • Modify positioning and scanning factors when standard procedures cannot be performed.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an American Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • One year of experience performing CT procedures is preferred.
  • Certified or Temporary Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT, RTR).
