Job Summary

The Senior Patient Safety Specialist will support the Sr. Manager of Patient Safety, Risk, and PFR at CDH to oversee and manage hospital-wide patient safety initiatives and daily work at CDH. This role will focus on carrying out Equity Informed High Reliability concepts, requiring extensive interaction with hospital leadership and staff.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Patient Safety Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating patient safety event management, including facilitating internal medical peer review and analyzing serious patient concerns.
  • Identifying trends and recommending corrective and preventive actions to reduce risk.
  • Participating in educational offerings to enhance knowledge of current research and trends in patient safety.
  • Working independently to set priorities and manage daily tasks and project deadlines.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive healthcare experience, with a strong clinical background.
  • Experience working in a large and complex healthcare organization.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as project management and computer skills.
Special Requirements

This role requires:

  • Availability to work in the case of a hospital-declared emergency.
  • Availability to assist during regulatory agency reviews.
