- Record guest information and provide estimated waiting times when necessary.
- Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs, ensuring a fair and efficient rotation.
- Locate waiting parties when tables become available, ensuring a prompt and courteous service.
- Speak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, responding to complaints and making conversation.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries, transferring calls as necessary.
- Receive and record dining reservations, ensuring accurate and efficient service.
- Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and guests to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed.
- Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
- Inform guests of establishment specialties and features, promoting our unique offerings.
- Direct guests to coatrooms and waiting areas, ensuring a smooth and efficient service.
- Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed, ensuring a seamless communication.
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return, promoting loyalty and retention.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement, ensuring a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fulfill fellow employees' roles where needed, ensuring a fair and efficient workload.
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of service etiquette and protocol.
- Familiarity with computerized order systems.
- 1-year prior experience in food service.
- Familiarity with fine dining operations.
- Ability to climb stairs and lift to 35 lbs. daily.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Working split shifts and shifts that may exceed 12 hours in duration.
- Working various shifts including weekends and holidays.
