Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Registered Nurse in our Community Living Center, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to our residents, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, and contributing to the overall mission of our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to residents in our Community Living Center, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
  • Conduct regular assessments of residents to identify their needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for residents, families, and staff to promote health and wellness.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure that our services meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • At least 2 years of experience in geriatric nursing, preferably in a long-term care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with care planning and coordination in a long-term care setting.
  • Knowledge of geriatric nursing principles and practices.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology.
