Responsibilities

  • Examine damaged vehicles and efficiently plan the repair process to ensure timely completion.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure effective communication and coordination of vehicle repair status.
  • Perform high-quality repairs while maintaining on-time status and adhering to industry standards.
  • Make informed decisions regarding repair versus replacement, considering factors such as safety, cost, and cycle time.
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical, and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to the vehicle and fenders.
  • Participate in all required safety meetings and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
  • Direct the work of an apprentice in the performance of tasks when needed, explaining procedures and providing guidance.

Qualifications

  • Certification in body repair is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the vehicle repair process by manufacturer is essential.
  • ICAR welding certification is required.
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data is necessary.
  • Ability to supervise repair personnel and lead by example.
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background check.
