About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at nVent. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating machinery and moving materials to machine materials based on pre-set programs or settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Machinery: Safely and efficiently operate machinery to machine materials based on pre-set programs or settings.
  • Move Materials: Physically or with equipment, move materials to and from machines to ensure smooth production.
  • Interface with Machines: Interface with machines to make simple and intermediate adjustments in settings, tools, or fixturing to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
  • Complete Work: Complete work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions with limited or no assistance.
  • Utilize Gages and Measuring Equipment: Utilize gages and measuring equipment to ensure products meet specifications. Recognize and report gage and calibration issues.
  • Maintain Equipment and Materials: Maintain equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
  • Meet Safety, Quality, and Performance Standards: Meet established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Record Accurate Information: Record accurate information on Manufacturing Order, Quality Check Sheets, and other paperwork. Perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
  • Comply with Safety Procedures: Comply with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards. Report adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leader in accordance with escalation procedure.
  • Adhere to Daily 5S Standards: Adhere to daily 5S standards as well as recommend improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Notify Team Leader: In accordance with escalation procedure, notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
  • Demonstrate Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed. May be required to learn multiple types of machines. Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
