- Collect and analyze patient data, leveraging available technology to provide efficient and effective care.
- Provide relationship-based care, promoting continuous, consistent, and accountable delivery of nursing care using the nursing process.
- Identify immediate patient care requirements based on nursing assessment.
- Incorporate evidence-based practice and research into patient care delivery, focusing on quality and safety.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited Nursing program preferred.
- If prepared at the associate degree in nursing level, required to enroll in a BSN program within 6 months of hire date and completion within 3 years required.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment upon hire required.
- CPR certification required by completion of introductory period (within 30 Days of start) required.

MedStar Health's Nurse Residency Program is a year-long program designed to assist new graduate nurses in transitioning from new to practice to professional nurse and clinical leader at the bedside. The program includes a series of structured learning and practice experiences, culminating in promotion to a Clinical Nurse II role upon successful completion.
