Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the superintendent and manager to develop project construction plans.
  • Assist in developing site safety plans and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Complete a three-week look-ahead schedule on a weekly basis and use it to assist in developing long-range schedules.
  • Communicate with owner's representatives, inspectors, and other project personnel.
  • Manage and provide direction to a crew of 6-12 carpenters, operators, and laborers.
  • Manage equipment necessary to complete the project, including cranes, excavators, and bulldozers.
  • Schedule, direct, and manage subcontractors and their work.
  • Schedule material delivery and communicate material needs to the superintendent or manager.
  • Responsible for maintenance and security of all tools.
  • Basic computer skills are required, including the ability to report crew time, open and send emails, and report daily production quantities.
  • Basic arithmetic skills are required, including the ability to calculate concrete, stone, and asphalt needs.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience working in bridge construction.
Work Environment

Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. The work environment periodically exposes employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust commonly found on construction sites. Employees regularly work near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
