Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support in our physician specialty practice setting. You will function as a clinical and community resource, educator, and consultant, utilizing your advanced nursing knowledge and experience to influence nursing practice in your assigned setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in an outpatient physician practice setting, maintaining an advanced knowledge base of disease entities, medications, and other treatment options specific to the medical specialty.
  • Assess and evaluate extensive health history, evaluating the effectiveness of care and making changes according to predetermined care plans or after consultation with physicians.
  • Perform phone triage accurately, involving physicians when needed, and utilize critical thinking skills and advanced knowledge to handle the majority of patient concerns.
  • Triangulate current patient populations and incoming referrals, prioritizing scheduling of office visits and testing with physician input.
  • Identify learning needs of patients and/or families, working with team members and community resources to develop and carry out educational plans.
  • Assist with in-office procedures, providing comfort and safety measures for patients before, during, and after the procedure.
  • Assume responsibility for patient safety, maintaining a safe environment and fostering awareness of safety procedures, protocols, and adherence to patient care standards.
  • Champion the development, implementation, and evaluation of PI projects and policies and procedures specific to the specialty area, mentoring and assisting new team members until they are proficient.
  • Evaluate own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, state statues, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and current specific knowledge, maintaining competency through education and professional activities.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • 1 year of Clinical Nursing Experience within specialty or related applicable specialty.
  • Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in specialty area preferred.
  • IV insertion and maintenance experience preferred.
Work Environment

Day shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours as needed.
