Apex Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure operations team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-wide infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement new technologies to support business initiatives
  • Partner with Security organization to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure asset security
  • Monitor and maintain virtual environments containing 400+ Windows and Red Hat virtual machines across Nutanix Acropolis and Azure
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide subject matter expertise on end-user and data center technologies
  • Continuously improve processes and documentation for infrastructure assets
  • Create and maintain Windows Server Templates
  • Support business services by completing requests and resolving incidents in documented SLA timings
  • Ensure security solutions, policies, and procedures meet and respond to threats to our data and endpoint infrastructure
  • Assist in streamlining project requirements, creating test and implementation plans, and identifying potential gaps for successful project delivery
  • Identify automation opportunities and leverage PowerShell or other scripting languages to automate repeatable tasks
  • Balance operational and project-related activities, ensuring timely delivery
  • Provide delivery of service requests through a ITIL-based Service Management process
  • Recommending and providing technical support processes, metrics, and SLAs
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required as situations arise

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of system administration processes and best practices
  • Ability to learn new technologies and assist others in learning new technologies
  • Troubleshooting skills and problem resolution abilities
  • Expert knowledge within Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Strong experience with Microsoft DNS, DHCP, and DFS
  • Extensive experience with networks, Microsoft Server, O365
  • Extensive experience with data-center management, system security
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written skills and desire to document network infrastructures
  • Experience with working in an ITIL or similar service operational environment

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rubrik, or similar backup architecture
  • Working knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure
  • Experience with Nutanix Self-Service or other automation platform
  • Working knowledge of Citrix published applications and Xen architecture

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business information systems or closely related field from a four-year college or university preferred and 8+ years' experience in infrastructure operations and project delivery.

The individual may also be called to be onsite for critical meetings and engineering discussions
