Job Summary

Snelling is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Long-Term Care Investigator to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life, improving the level of care, and protecting individual rights of Alabama citizens residing in long-term care facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve complaints made by or on behalf of long-term care residents, ensuring their rights are protected and their dignity is maintained.
  • Advocate on behalf of long-term care residents, providing support and guidance to help them navigate the complex healthcare system.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including family members, facility staff, medical professionals, and local and state agencies, to achieve program objectives and improve the quality of care.
  • Monitor the development and implementation of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and administrative actions that affect long-term care facilities, ensuring compliance and promoting best practices.
  • Provide training and education to facility staff and community groups on elder care laws, regulations, and best practices, promoting a culture of respect and dignity.
  • Respond to complaints and inquiries relating to long-term care facilities or residents, providing timely and effective support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including facility administrators, medical professionals, and community leaders, to promote collaboration and improve the quality of care.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a related degree in human services.
  • 3+ years of experience in a human service-related program, with a proven track record of investigation and complaint resolution skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including residents, family members, and facility staff.
  • Knowledge of elder care laws, regulations, and best practices, with the ability to interpret and apply them in a practical setting.
  • A valid Alabama driver's license and a clean driving record.
