Position Overview

The organization is currently transitioning its financial management systems, which has introduced unforeseen complexities, resulting in a backlog of accounting discrepancies. The contractor will be tasked with enhancing the management of the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL), ensuring adherence to accounting standards, achieving high audit compliance, and strengthening internal controls.

Recent audits have identified deficiencies in the reconciliation processes, necessitating immediate rectification. The organization, in collaboration with its service provider, must address these issues effectively. The transition to a new enterprise resource planning system has further complicated stakeholder interactions, introducing new data and requiring coordinated efforts among various parties. Key milestones include funding solutions for multi-funded contracts, timely transaction recording, remediation of unsupported journal vouchers, and enhancements to the reconciliation processes and tools. The contractor will provide advisory services, coordination, and technical support to align these efforts with upcoming audit milestones.

Functional Responsibilities: The contractor will independently apply advanced technical expertise to implement effective business solutions. Level III analysts will lead project teams and engage with financial management and government clients at senior levels.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of the job questionnaire as part of the application process is mandatory.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, and all applicants must pass a background check to confirm citizenship status.
  • Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience in audit response, remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant federal policies.
  • Years of Experience: A minimum of six (6) years of progressive, relevant experience is required.
  • Minimum Education: A four (4) year degree in accounting or a related business management field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum Certification: One of the following professional certifications is required: CPA, CISA, CIA, CGFM, or CDFM.
