Job Overview

Position Summary: The Plant Operator plays a crucial role in supporting the daily functions of the production units utilized in various operational processes. Key responsibilities include overseeing Catalyst Regeneration, Catalyst Sulfiding, and Catalyst Screening activities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Changing bins as required
  • Staging feed sacks for operations
  • Preparing drums for processing
  • Managing waste disposal by dumping trash drums
  • Conducting unit blowdowns and ensuring clean-up before and after tasks
  • Maintaining cleanliness in the change-room, control room, and break area
  • Assisting in the assembly of classifiers
  • Collaborating with the Shift Supervisor to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Regularly checking for updates in documentation to ensure compliance with operational standards
  • Following the Job Shutdown Checklist, which includes verifying product and waste container counts, making sample requests, checking labels, and obtaining final sign-off from the Shift Supervisor
Compliance with Safety Standards:
  • Adhering to safety equipment policies, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and Permit-Required Confined Space Entry Program
  • Following emergency protocols
  • Documenting specific workbook requirements
Qualifications:
  • Fostering a safe work environment by promoting adherence to safety guidelines and leading by example
  • Proficient in operating a forklift
  • Assisting with the unloading of chemical delivery trucks as necessary
  • Regularly labeling products with a focus on accuracy
  • Counting bins and verifying quantities as required, ensuring precision in all count checks
  • Understanding hazardous waste labeling procedures and ensuring proper drum labeling
  • Managing various paperwork throughout the shift with a keen attention to detail
  • Responsible for sampling Catalyst products during the shift
  • Participating in all required training sessions and meetings (technical, safety, environmental, etc.)
  • Engaging in monthly safety meetings
