About the Role:
Piedmont Newton Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Technician - First Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our perioperative services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures, utilizing your expertise and knowledge to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Assist OR staff in the assigned room/case, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Maintain the sterile field and anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team.
- Prepare and provide the required sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
Requirements:
- Graduate from a surgical technologist program.
- Completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon during the orientation period.
- Three years perioperative services experience.
- Certified surgical technologist (CST) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified surgical assistant (CSA), Certified surgical first assistant (CSFA), Surgical assistant, certified, (SA-C) or equivalent certification.
