MAB Community Services is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Behavior Department, you will play a critical role in supporting the therapeutic milieu and residential programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership in crisis prevention and intervention strategies within the therapeutic milieu and residential programs.
- Engage in data analysis and collection, implementation, and monitoring of individualized behavior plans.
- Collaborate with the Director of Behavior Supports and peer supervision in weekly behavior department meetings.
- Implement and oversee the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in designated classrooms.
- Utilize and model ARC framework languages and practices.
- Partner with the residential supervisory team to oversee the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of PBIS in the Education, Foundations Residential Program, and Cottage Farm Program.
- Complete documentation for monthly PPAM notes and EEC treatment plans.
- Assess, promote, and manage the school-wide PBIS program.
- Monitor and report data related to students not accessing programming numbers and participate as a member of the Accountability Committee.
- Participate as a member of the Restraint Prevention Committee.
- Demonstrate leadership, confidence, and comfortability in crisis management within the day program milieu.
- Participate in the teaching, implementation, and monitoring of individual behavioral programs for high-need students.
- Manage data collection and analysis, including setting up and overseeing data collection methods, analyzing data with other Behavior Department team members, and a BCBA.
- Participate in observations and functional assessments of challenging behaviors alongside the support of a BCBA.
- Observe and participate in day and residential programming, including group activities as needed or co-leading clinically oriented groups.
- Ensure that individualized Tier 2 and Tier 3 token boards, 1:1 binders, visual prompts, and other materials are created as needed for day and residential programs.
- Provide thorough and concise verbal reports to parents, school contacts, teachers, etc., as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree as approved by the Ivy Street School Leadership Team.
- Previous experience preferred, but not required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Background check, drug, and alcohol test will be performed prior to start.
- CPR and First Aid required, offered upon hire.
