Shift Timings: Morning Shift 7:00-19:00 Hours
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee patient care strategies. Regularly monitor, document, and communicate patient status as necessary.
- Act as the main coordinator among various disciplines to ensure well-organized patient care.
- Execute and fulfill physician and nursing directives.
- Evaluate and coordinate the discharge planning needs of patients with the healthcare team.
- The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provides direct patient care within the defined scope of practice.
- The Registered Nurse guides patient/family education and supervises the activities of other nursing staff while upholding care standards in the ICU.
- Responsible for the care provided to assigned patients; communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient conditions, including monitoring results and abnormal findings.
- Must respond swiftly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses.
- Ensures patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) Certification
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Proficient technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Commitment to patient care excellence.
- Minimum of two years of RN ICU experience required.
- Graduate from an accredited RN program.
- Active and unencumbered RN California state license.
- COVID vaccination with two shots and a booster.
- Maintains and enhances clinical knowledge and skills.
- Engages in relevant continuing education opportunities.
- Dedication to providing the highest quality patient care and service excellence.
- Ability to take initiative and demonstrate independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative, team-oriented attitude is essential, with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with physicians, managers, and staff across the department and hospital.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks.
