Job Title: Medical Respite Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Respite Technician to join our team at Siena Francis House. As a Medical Respite Technician, you will provide direct care and daily supervision to clients in our Medical Respite program, helping them achieve their care plan goals and improve their overall health and wellness.

Responsibilities


  • Intake clients, reviewing medical respite and shelter expectations
  • Provide direct supervision and support to clients in the Medical Respite program
  • Transport clients to and from appointments
  • Monitor the Medical Respite unit, ensuring a sanitary and clean environment
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation
  • Monitor client behaviors and report any changes in conditions
  • Collaborate with healthcare workers, case managers, clinicians, housing navigators, and shelter staff to help clients reach their care plan goals
  • Assist clients with their discharge and transition plans
  • Complete all documentation and data entry as required, in a timely manner
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service, promoting collaboration, respect, and teamwork
  • Implement agency policies and procedures to effectively serve Medical Respite clients
  • Participate in applicable meetings, trainings, conferences, etc. as required
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and significant others, coworkers, supervisors, other service agencies, and the community, remaining culturally sensitive and respectful in all interactions
  • Adhere to all client confidentiality requirements and standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements


  • Knowledge of issues surrounding medical respite and homelessness, including mental illness, domestic violence, chemical addictions, criminal behavior, and dysfunctional thinking
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency and recognize symptoms of common mental and physical illnesses, making appropriate referrals for treatment
  • Possess knowledge of local community agencies, programs, and available client resources
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and all levels of people within the workplace
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and be organized with extreme attention to detail
  • Continued development of resiliency skills and practice
  • Maintains an updated system of information related to available services and programs
