At ArchWell Health, we're seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our clinical care team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) in delivering exceptional patient care.
You will be responsible for conducting intake with patients, measuring and recording vital signs, and performing routine diagnostic testing during appointments. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations will be essential in providing a positive patient experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough patient intake, including vital sign measurement and recording, patient interview, and medical history.
- Perform routine diagnostic testing and examinations, ensuring patients are informed and all questions and concerns are addressed.
- Critically listen and engage with patients throughout appointments, reporting any changes in patient conditions to PCPs and other clinical personnel.
- Process patient phone messages, including returning calls and routing calls to other team members as appropriate.
- Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures under physician supervision.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and maintain accurate, legal, and ethical documentation.
- Provide health coaching to patients to support healthy lifestyle choices and follow up with coached patients via weekly calls.
- High degree of emotional intelligence and integrity.
- Driven and focused work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively with various seniorities and diverse populations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent critical reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with claims/quality reports and analytical software packages.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite products.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare vocational training required.
- A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Medical Assistant.
- 6+ months' phlebotomy experience highly desired.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
- EClinical Works or similar EMR experience.
