We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Dental Hygienist to join our team at Meridian Health Services. As a key member of our dental office, you will provide skilled dental assistant duties, services, or capacities under the supervision of a licensed dentist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform under Access Practice Agreement and Prescriptive Hygiene functions.
- Perform all hygiene duties outlined by the supervising dentist.
- Obtain preliminary dental history, make observations, assessments, and record appropriate findings.
- Prepare patient for the complete dental examination by the dentist.
- Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
- Interview and advise patients regarding dental hygiene, tooth decay prevention, gum disease, etc.
- Scale teeth.
- Refer patients as appropriate.
- Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between clinic visits as required.
- Remain current in advanced practice changes within area, and where relevant, translate these findings into clinical practice.
- Follow infection control guidelines and ensure adherence to OSHA and CLIA protocols due to potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
- Participate in the development and implementation of PCER guidelines.
- Demonstrate ongoing professional growth through participation in relevant educational endeavors and appropriate associations.
- Maintain CPR certification and re-licensure requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Attend and participate in meetings and in-services as required. Serve on committees as requested.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures concerning corporate compliance, including privacy of protected health information.
- Perform related work as required and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Current Indiana State Dental Hygiene License.
- Dental Radiographer license obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
- Two years' experience as a dental hygienist preferred.
- A valid driver's license with a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
