Role Summary:

The Restorative Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for executing patient-centered restorative nursing duties that are specifically assigned by the Restorative Nurse, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards set forth by Life Care.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a State-approved CNA training program
  • Active registration/licensure in the applicable State, with a commitment to maintaining good standing throughout employment
  • Completion of restorative nursing training is mandatory
  • Preferred: One (1) year of experience in geriatric nursing
  • CPR certification required upon hire or to be obtained during orientation, with ongoing maintenance throughout employment

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary
  • Familiarity with relevant practices, procedures, and regulations governing operations in a post-acute care environment
  • Ability to implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others
  • Uphold confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
  • Adhere to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following Life Care's Code of Conduct and completing required compliance training

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting patients
  • Support patients with personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, and toileting needs
  • Document and chart patient care accurately
  • Respond promptly to patient call lights
  • Provide prescribed exercises to patients as directed by physicians
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service and maintain a positive demeanor towards patients
  • Aid in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary
  • Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance
  • Utilize reasoning skills and sound judgment in daily tasks
  • Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving throughout working hours
  • Proficiently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
