Job DescriptionThe WIC Program is seeking a highly skilled Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to provide expert breastfeeding support to WIC mothers and infants who are experiencing complex breastfeeding challenges. This role will work closely with WIC peer counselors and other staff members to ensure that mothers receive the highest level of care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one breastfeeding support and counseling to WIC mothers and infants with complex breastfeeding issues.
  • Collaborate with WIC peer counselors and other staff members to develop and implement breastfeeding support plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of breastfeeding challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest breastfeeding research and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with mothers, staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support.

Requirements
  • Must possess IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) accreditation.
  • At least 1 year of experience in counseling breastfeeding mother/infant dyads.
  • Experience working with lower socio-economic status breastfeeding mothers and infants who experience complex breastfeeding challenges.

Reporting StructureThis role will report directly to the Clark County WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator.
