Job Overview
A Fabrication Specialist is needed for a manufacturing team in Muncie, Indiana. This position involves operating hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment to fabricate and join workpieces.

In this role, you will utilize various welding techniques such as MIG and Stick to contribute to the successful completion of projects while maintaining the highest safety standards. Your expertise in fabricating components will be essential in meeting production goals and deadlines.

This position offers a competitive salary of $22-$28 per hour, based on experience. Additionally, you will have access to comprehensive benefits, including 5 days of paid time off and 6 paid holidays. Health insurance premiums are also partially covered by Impact Workforce Solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain internal welding certification in line with ISO, AAR, and other regulatory standards.
  • Fabricate components according to specifications using hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment.
  • Set up components for welding, including cutting materials with powered saws to precise measurements.
  • Prepare parts for welding using angle grinders and other hand tools.
  • Interpret welding blueprints, assembly instructions, drawings, and bills of material.
  • Comply with Progress Rail QSP 4.9 and relevant local and international standards.

Advanced Responsibilities:
  • Maste various welding techniques including pipe welding, GMAW, and SMAW in all positions.
  • Obtain certification in recognized welding standards such as AWS D1.1.
  • Perform single and multi-pass welds in diverse positions.
  • Conduct preventative and basic maintenance on welding machines and equipment.
  • Train and mentor less experienced welders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Welder with knowledge of various welding techniques (MIG, MMA, Stick, TIG).
