Job Description

Sprinkler Technician

  • Proficient in fire protection systems and NFPA 25 and NFPA 13 standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate maintenance records
  • Effective time management and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and maintain good relationships with customers
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on fire suppression systems, including testing and troubleshooting fire pumps
  • Install, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler equipment and system components according to local ordinance, codes, and standards
  • Cut, thread, and groove steel pipe, bond piping according to specifications, and follow blueprints to meet product specifications
  • Ability to mentor and coach Fire sprinkler helpers on proper installation techniques and demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, including electric and battery-powered equipment, and a valid driver's license

Key Responsibilities:

  • Flow testing of fire hydrants
  • Service and inspections of wet, dry, and pre-action fire suppression systems
  • Installs, maintains, repairs, or replaces fire sprinkler equipment and system components
  • Cut, thread, and groove steel pipe
  • Bond piping according to specifications
  • Follow Blueprints to meet product specifications

Requirements:

  • Multiple system experience required, such as Dry systems, Wet systems, Deluge, Pre-Action and others
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed
