Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver legal guidance, representation, and counsel for insured parties and/or CSAA IG in court or arbitration settings.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and trial briefs, collaborating closely with claims specialists.
- Represent CSAA IG and its insured members in various legal proceedings.
- Manage all stages of personal injury litigation, encompassing jury trials, motions, and arbitration hearings.
- Handle complex and high-value cases with a focus on strategic legal matters.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource within assigned legal disciplines, resolving significant issues independently.
- Proactively identify and advise on potential legal challenges affecting insurance and motor club operations.
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree with active admission to practice law in California.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense is preferred, with a strong understanding of customer objectives and business processes.
- Familiarity with personal injury law and procedures.
- Knowledge of general liability insurance coverage and company policies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating organization and timeliness.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and online research tools like LEXIS.
- Understanding of medical-legal issues related to tort law.
- Ability to interpret legal implications from medical records.
- Current knowledge of laws and issues within the specialty area.
- Capacity to manage a demanding caseload efficiently.
- Creative and effective advocacy skills.
- Independent decision-making focused on client interests.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for court proceedings and meetings.
