We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Our Team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food orders and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist the head cook in preparing food orders and following instructions.
- Prepare menu items prior to and during meal periods according to written food orders.
- Prepare, slice, and chop meats and other food products.
- Use preparatory utensils such as knives and pans on a regular basis.
- Communicate with front-of-house staff in a professional manner regarding guest orders.
- Receive and stock all food items in appropriate storage locations by lifting and carrying products.
- Maintain food product inventory and notify the head cook of shortages.
- Follow portion and quality control standards of menu.
- Perform end-of-shift duties of the kitchen daily, including washing fridges, sweeping and mopping floors, filtering deep fryers, and disposing of garbage.
- Clean work areas within state health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain kitchen equipment by wiping, scrubbing, and polishing as required.
- Adhere to all restaurant policies and procedures, paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.
- Report any problems or discrepancies to the head cook immediately.

Education/Experience:A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
Language Ability:The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos is required. The ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations is also required.
Math Ability:The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, is required. The ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs is also required.Reasoning Ability:
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions is required. The ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations is also required.Work Environment:

Pay rate: $17.55-$18.55 Depending on location and experience
